A Mercy School

Mercy Education Limited (Mercy Education) is an incorporated ministry of the Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea (ISMAPNG), charged with operating all educational ministries for which the Institute has sole sponsorship. Mercy Education is one of the many works operated by the Institute throughout Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Mercy Education will operate at all times as part of the mission of the Catholic Church in conformity with canon law and in strict conformity with the ethical framework of the Institute as determined by the Institute Leader and Council from time to time.

is involved with twelve fully sponsored schools – eight in Victoria, three in Western Australia and one in South Australia. The governance role of the Board of Mercy Education is confined to the twelve ISMAPNG sponsored schools and sets policies, approves each school’s strategic plan, appoints Principals, approves senior leadership positions and fulfils due diligence in the area of finance and audit management, capital development, risk management and litigation.

Advisory Council

Advisory Council

An Advisory Council has been appointed to act as a Consultative Council for the College and the Principal and to act as an advisory body to Mercy Education Ltd, as, and when, required.

Its primary functions are to:

  • assist in the development of policy
  • provide advice concerning financial administration, capital development and maintenance
  • participate in strategic planning and development
  • supervise fund raising activities

Rick Wight

Chair
Rick is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Australian United Retailers Ltd (AUR), which is an independent supermarket group comprising of more than 570 stores nationally.

Drew Parkinson

Drew is excited to see the new phase at St ¹û¶³APP coming to fruition after a number of years of planning and no doubt many more discussions to help ensure the Co-Ed environment evolves for the benefit of everyone.

Filina Virgato

My vision for a 21st Century education aims to develop global citizens through promotion of open mindedness and a willingness to take action for change, respecting and valuing diversity, and being active in the development of a peaceful, just and sustainable world.

Anthea Bartlett

Anthea is Head of the Customer, Commerce & Marketing Portfolio at Foxtel, currently working in the Portfolio Management Office, a position she has held for the past 5 years.

Peter Hill

Peter’s daughter joined the school in 2022 and he joined the St. ¹û¶³APP Advisory Council in the same year. Peter’s career in corporate real estate as a senior manager with some of Australia’s largest companies in Australia, Asia and Europe.

Michael Cantoni

Michael Cantoni has more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, and industry engagement, at universities in the United Kingdom and Australia.

Ross De Rango

Ross De Rango is a robotics engineer, who taught engineering at Deakin University before spending the last 15 years in the electrical industry.

¹û¶³APP adheres to and promotes the principles and practices of Australian democracy including a commitment to:

  • Equal right for all before the law
  • Freedom of religion
  • Freedom of speech and association
  • The values of openness and tolerance

As such ¹û¶³APP adheres to the reporting requirements under Commonwealth and State Funding agreement and makes available on request reports to all aspects of school performance to members of the College Community.
